Montreal’s Mutek Festival is proud to present a unique Micro.Mutek event featuring some of the festival’s finest ambassadors in collaboration with The Wire and Arnolfini. Premiered at Mutek 2011, Marc Leclair (AKA Akufen)’s Horror Inc live set is remembered as one of this year’s highlights for its widescreen beauty, and presented here for the first time in the UK. With his latest LP, Drawn and Quartered (on his own new BLKRTZ label) receiving acclaim for its stunning reappraisal of dub techno, expect Berlin based Canadian expat Deadbeat to play plenty of his new material, while non-stop releases on The Mole’s busy 7 inches of Love label have been garnering attention from disco-house lovers everywhere. Finally, the excellent Stephen Beaupré will deliver his memorable live set that warmed up MUTEK 2011′s prestigious saturday all-nighter.
The event is organised thanks to the British Council in collaboration with the Québec’s Ministry of International Relations and Department of Culture, Communications and the Status of Women.

FutureMusicLab is a network of artists and research students from the Creative Music Practice MA/MFA, working in the digital music sector. FML is based within the School of Film, Photography and Digital Media at the University of Wales Newport and hosts applied research projects and creative labs that focus on experimental and interactive music within the emerging digital ecology. The Lab specialises in convergent media, digital tool developments, interface design, and new music and media content.
Artist projects are diverse in nature, stemming from sonic art performance through to interactive installations based around electronic music. The skill set of the FML artists are such that these happenings offer features such as workshops and hacks encouraging interaction and contribution from others, to make the event and network evolve. Events are relaxed social immersive interactions with technology and sound encouraging dialogue between audiences and participants in electronic music.
There was a multitude of FML events throughout the day ending in some fantastic performances at the Arnolfini
